You are renowned for creating gowns
that channel old-fashioned glamour in
a modern style – what sets your dresses
apart from other designers?
I think it’s our attention to detail and the
t: our dresses sculpt women’s gures like
the vintage styles used to. A Justin
Alexander gown feels fabulous on and this
is the reason women say yes to our dresses
and love how they look in them.
What are your top tips for maximising
the glamour on the big day?
Every bride should think about the total
look of her wedding – if you want to add
sophistication then why not have hundreds
of candles? Ask your guests to wear
glamorous tuxedos and evening gowns, or
set a dress code for the reception. It’s also
very important to nd the right venue –
somewhere like e Savoy or Claridge’s in
London would be my idea of real wedding-
day glamour. Finally, don’t forget to make
an entrance in style...
What can we expect from Justin
Alexander Bridal’s latest collection?
is season we have developed some new
fabrics, including a heavy charmeuse,
which moves and drapes beautifully, along
with stunning clean lines in double chi on.
ere are also lots of laces; including ones
that are embroidered, corded and metallic,
as well as exquisite hand-cra ed beading.
A bride’s perfect dress is...
...one that lets her shine. You should be
con dent, happy and comfortable in your
gown. Most of all, you should look like you
but the most beautiful you have ever felt.
What is it about your brand that makes it
so successful around the world?
I travel all over the globe meeting brides –
we do a lot of research and really listen
to what they have to tell us. In fact, my
biggest inspiration is the amazing
women I meet; they have in uenced
many of my best-selling dresses.
Yo u r b i g g e s t a c h i e v e m e n t s t o d a t e a re ...
...how our rm has grown, especially in the
tough economic climate, and how we’ve
maintained our relationship with our
brides and stockists, who are priceless.
If you could dress any celebrity, who
would it be and why?
I would love to style Nigella Lawson as
she is a ‘real’ woman with real curves and
is very con dent in her own skin.
Next year, brides will be wearing...
...cleaner lines and more graphic looks.
