Brides has been
busy polling men
nationwide about
their idea of the
ultimate wedding
day. Some 60,000
responses* later,
and we can reveal all;
from how many
guests he’d like to invite (under 50), his
favourite new tradition (you making
a speech); the celebrity couple whose style
he’d most like to emulate on the day (Justin
Timberlake and Jessica Biel); the location
(a luxury hotel or grand stately home) and,
crucially, what style of dress he’d like you
to wear (which, incidentally, he thinks you
should spend more on than you do!).
As the dress results came in, we were all
predicting a body-skimming silhouette that
would show o your curves like nothing else
you’ve worn. How wrong we were! e
shape he actually favoured was a full-length,
o-the-shoulder princess gown in satin, and
heavily embellished with crystals. So we
asked renowned British bridal designer Ian
Stuart, who created the two stunning
dresses on this page, to bring this vision to
life for us. And here is a rst glimpse at the
gown of your man’s dreams (le).
‘e ingredients of the dress are textbook
fairytale, classic and beautiful – the men Jade Beer, EDITOR

have come up with a timeless design that
is the epitome of bridal fashion,’ Ian says.
‘e cleverness of this dress is that it will
suit all sizes and heights, which is not an
easy thing to achieve in one design.
‘I think it’s a clear sign that grooms
imagine their brides to wear a “wedding
dress”, with a more traditional full skirt
and romantic mood.’
What you’re seeing here (bottom le)
are Ian’s initial design sketches but the
£5,000 dress will go on display at Brides
e Show on March 22 and 23. en one
visitor or reader will get the gown in her
size for her own special day.**
