Dive Lake Eacham
This water-filled volcanic crater plunges to 65 metres. It would
have to be one of the stranger scuba diving sites in the north.
It’s also a top place to paddle a board, swim or hike a lap of the
lake (one hour, easy to moderate difficulty), spotting the rare,
saw-shelled turtles that impress kids by breathing through
their bottoms.When you go: Follow the Gillies Highway up the range
from Gordonvale and take the signposted turn to the lake
