photoshoot.If you'reaftera patchofparadis
topitcha tenton,therearefewplacesbetter
thanthis.Tooneside,thecampgroundis
borderedbya thickwallofrainforest,while
theothersidefacesthebeach.
Asotherswentaboutsettingupforthe
shoot,PhilandI tookoneoftheshort
walkingtracksthatopensontoa widesandy
beach,whichwascastin theorangelightof
a risingsun.It feelscruelthatswimmingon
thesepicturesquebeachesis sodangerous.
However,afterhavingbeenassuredthata
fairlyheftycrocmaderesidenceatthecreek
ononeendofthebeach,wefeltnotemptation
towadeintotheglowingsea.
ThemorningpassedbyandswollenSD
cardsweretradedforfreshones.When
everythinghadbeencapturedwepackedup
andmadea dashforCairns,arrivingjustin
timeforthoseofusdepartingbyairtosettle
thatweek.Funny,I thought,allthosedaysin a
tropicalparadiseandI hadn'toncepickedup
mybook– we'dbeensobusy.Yetin spiteof
thatI leftfeelingrefreshedandenergised.The
physiologicaleffectsofnaturearewelloutside
ofmypay-grade,butonethingwasobviousas
wetaxieddowntherunway;there'sa certain
restorativepropertytotheDaintreeRainforest
thatI'venotexperiencedanywhereelse.CTA
