changesweremadetothelayout,including
removinga wallbetweenthediningroomand
kitchen,thesehavetransformedthewaythe
familyusethisspace,whichnowhasa farbetter
connectionandflowtoadjoiningareas.
Aesthetically,thenewkitchenhaschanged
thewholelookandfeelof thehome.Thedesign
briefwasfora functionalhubthatmaximisedthe
viewsof theharbourandbush.Thecouplechose
robust,wood-looktilesoverlaminateflooringand
insistedonsoft-closecupboardsanddrawersto
minimisenoiseandprotectsmallfingers.The
resultis a light,airyspacewhichfeelsrestful and
linkseffortlesslytothetreetopviews.
Truetoform,thekitchenhasbecomea
centralpartof thefamily’slife,withhomework
spillingoutoverthebreakfastbar,andCharlie,
thenewestadditiontothefamily,learningto
walk– andnowdance– inthekitchenwhile the
familyswirlaroundhiminthemorning.
