thefridgeinthescullerywasoneofthebest

ideasAnnikafromRowsonKitchenshad.We

haveourlaundryinthere,too.We’vekeptthe

kitchenclassicbutwithuniquedetailslikethe

brassBuster+ Punchhandlesanda Corian

benchtopinwitchhazel.There’salsoa sliding

windowoverthebuffetbenchsobeerscanbe

handed out to whomever is at the barbecue!

Didyoufaceanychallenges?Thesourcingand

supplyofthemataiflooringtooklongerthan

expectedandendedupholdingtheothertrades

up.Wewantedtorunfloorboardsalltheway

through the kitchen, dining and living rooms to

achievea cohesivelookbetweentheoriginal

houseandthe1970sextensions.Unfortunately

it wasn’tstraightforwardbecausethefloorjoists

intheextensionrantheoppositewaytothe

floorjoistsintheoriginalhouse.However,the

finalproductwas 100 percentworthit.

Becauseweweredoingsomethingdifferent

tothenorm,wewereoftenfacedwithlead

timesforspecialproducts,andthings seemed

to be a bit more expensive.

Howdidyoumakethehomelighter?Weadded

Frenchdoorsoffthekitchenandmadethe

windowsbiggeronthenorthside,which

madea perfectnookfortheadditionofanother

windowseat.Thelightthatstreamsthrough

thekitchenanddiningareais beautiful

throughoutthedayanda realcontrastto

how dim it used to feel inside.
