Passion Models’ M4A3 Light Guard set was used to
the replace the over-scale kit parts. These little sets
are great, as one doesn't need to buy an entire set,
only to use a couple of parts from it
Thanks to the
Airbrush Company,
the author got to
try out the new
Lifecolor set,
specifically for
British armour in
Northwest Europe
All of the stowage
was painted using
the second set
from Lifecolor,
‘British Infantry
Uniform WWII’
The 17-Pdr breech looks really nice under a coat
of paint and some wear and tear to areas prone to
constant use or handling. The most extreme edges
of the wear were buffed with graphite powder
The right-side of the turret interior showing the completed painting
and weathering. Much of this detail painting and weathering will be
virtually impossible to see once the massive breech and partial turret
roof are installed
Left-hand side is dominated by the large red fire-extinguisher. The black box with
the green lid is the sight-dial stowage box. The lid of this box was made from
brass and Alclad 2’s Polished Brass paint was used to replicate this
Once the breech assembly is fitted to
just one side of the turret, it’s clear see
just how much room it takes up
