I
have always liked the
shape of the Panavia
Tornado GR4 and to build
this model I used the
Revell kit in 1:48 which is
quite good. I decided to use
some additional parts for the
model; Eduard resin wheels,
ejection seats from Aires,
PE seat harnesses and a
metal pitot tube, plus a set
of additional weapons from
Eduard. The construction
of the model was easy and
fast, but unfortunately after
assembling the fuselage and
other parts, it turned out
that the Revell model has
several imperfections; quite
large gaps at the connecting
elements of the air intakes
and in the rear part of the
fuselage. I chose white putty
from Tamiya to make the
repairs.
I like that the lines
between panels and rivets
are clearly visible, so I
decided to correct all panel
lines by re-engraving them
with the Tamiya scriber. The
same was true for the rivets
on the surface of the model.
Each rivet was deepened
The beginning of an adventure with Tornado. The author likes his mess in
