Timbersled RIOT 120

W

hile not the traditional
editor’s choice, the
Timbersled RIOT snow
bike has taken back-
country riding to the next level. With
a shorter 120-inch track and new
rear suspension, the RIOT employs
all that is great about a dirt bike and
puts it on the snow. Our concerns
with a shorter track trenching in
deep snow conditions were put at
ease after a day of riding in chest-
deep powder. The engineers at
Polaris and Timbersled designed a
single-arm suspension and central-
ized the weight making the bike
more agile and reactive. This ride
makes a breeze of lofting the ski to
float through obstacles, or giving
the rider an option to lean back with
some throttle to wheelie like a pro.
Perhaps what we like most about
the RIOT is the ability to do every-
thing we want to do on a dirt bike,
yet with a forgiving snow landing.
