WORLD’S FASTEST MAN ‘MISSES THREE DRUG TESTS’
AMERICAN 100 metres
superstar Christian Coleman
is facing a ban which would
rule him out of the Olympics
after allegedly missing three
drug tests.
It was claimed yesterday that
the 23-year-old, regarded by
athletics as the heir to Usain
Bolt, had recorded three
‘whereabouts’ failures in the

past 12 months. Anti-doping
rules state that top athletes
must provide authorities with
details of where they will be
for an hour every day.
Sportsmail has learned that

Coleman is disputing one of
the failures, but if he is
unsuccessful in having one of
the three strikes removed, he
faces a lengthy ban that
would rule him out of the
2020 Olympics in Tokyo. It
would be a devastating blow
to a sport that has made him
a poster boy since Jamaican
legend Bolt retired in 2017.

According to the United
States Anti-Doping Agency
website: ‘Any cumulation of
three missed tests or filing
failures in a 12-month period
can result in a potential anti-
doping rule violation and a
period of ineligibility of up to
two years for a first violation.’

LAWRENCE BOOTH
reports from Headingley

THE ASHES
JOfRA ARChER was relish-
ing the ‘happiest’ time of his
career after skittling Australia
for 179 in the third Ashes Test
— but insisted he can bowl
even better.
England’s World Cup winner took
six for 45, their best figures against
the Australians at headingley since
Bob Willis’s eight for 43 in the miracle
of 1981, to continue his dream start
to international cricket.
‘It’s been really good so far, from the
moment I’ve put the badge on,’ he

said. ‘It’s been the happiest days of
cricket so far, and hopefully there are
plenty more ahead. I’ll more than
take six for 45, but I can be tidier in
the future.’
Archer, who turned up to the ground
20 minutes later than his team-mates
after getting lost in headingley’s
