HONEYMOON St. Lucia
E
mily Privette and Mat-
thew Miller’s goal was to
give their guests a party like
they’d never seen. So they
chose the cafe at B543, Urban
Outfitters’ Nav y Yard head-
quarters in Philadelphia,
as their venue and let the
building guide their vintage
nautical theme.
The pair said personalized
vows in front of 180 guests.
At the reception, sheer
fabric separated the cocktail
area from tables accented
with nav y, cream, and gold.
Guests were treated to a
fried-chicken dinner, cup-
cakes, a University of Vir-
ginia–themed groom’s cake
(the couple are both grads
of the medical school), and
a sundae bar.
After the first dance,
a DJ kept the floor packed,
spinning Katy Perr y and
Pharrell. Emily laughs, “The
night wrapped with the
whole crowd yelling the lyr-
ics to Old Crow Medicine
Show’s ‘Wagon Wheel’ at the
top of their lungs!”

Tall arrange -
ments helped
balance out the
venue’s tower-
ing ceilings.
“It felt so
elegant,” says
Emily of her
Priscilla of
Boston gown.
“I’m not a heels
girl,” says Emily.
“These J.Crew flats
were very me.”
Ropes, anchors,
and other mari-
time details
transformed
the space,
which dates
back to 1801.
