“ I WAS IN CHEFCHAOUEN, MOROCCO, for Thanksgiving break. I stayed at Casa Perleta
(casaperleta.com; doubles from $62), a charming boutique hotel in the medina, and each
morning, I had breakfast on the sunny third-floor deck. The waiter would serve a delicious
spread of dried fruits, olives, jams, and various types of bread, including msemen, a crêpelike
flatbread. But what really struck me was the way he’d place each dish on the table, so
intentionally and with such care. Between the hospitality and the stunning pops of blue,
I just had to pull out my camera and capture the scene.”
