been told it could take a further
£25,000 to try and make
Wei Wei’s family stick to the
court agreement.
However, the couple have now
offered to put 350,000 yuan
(£40,200) into a bank account to
help support Wei Wei if the
family agree to let Jack leave
China for the UK.
She is serving a life sentence

Trapped Jack has only recently

Ian said: “The earliest Wei Wei

She also attacked Michael’s

The children were told their

Emotions

THE parents of a British man
murdered by his estranged wife
in China have offered her family
more than £40,000 to send their
grandson back to the UK.
Ian and Linda Simpson have
battled for two years for custody
of Jack, eight, and Alice, six.
Alice was allowed to return
to them in December after the
Simpsons paid killer Wei Wei Fu’s
family more than £9,000.
Wei Wei stabbed their son
Michael in 2017, two years after
they split.
The couple won custody of
Alice in a deal struck on
Christmas Day 2018, but Jack
was ordered to stay with his
Chinese grandparents.

A court order also stipulated
that the siblings could speak by
videolink every week and meet
up for a holiday once a year, but
Wei Wei’s family are now refusing
to honour it.
Ian, 70, said: “If money is what
it takes to bring Jack to Britain
and reunite him with Alice, that
is what we have to do.
“Believe me, it isn’t fair to
Michael but you have to come
back to what is practical and put
your emotions to one side.”
Michael, 34, had been living in
China for nine years when he
was stabbed to death by Wei Wei
in March 2017.
The couple had split in 2015
and Michael – who worked as
an executive for retailer Next –
had been left to raise their two
