It was Fulcher’s determination to

not only for the investigation
but for the career of this dedicated

Other stars include John

Imelda Staunton, the latter playing
the mum of another missing
woman, Becky Godden-Edwards.

PICKS OF THE DAY

Cookery: Ainsley’s Caribbean Kitchen,
ITV, 8pm
We say this without a moment’s
hesitation – everybody loves Ainsley
Harriott. It is impossible not to be
totally taken in by the chef’s charms
and he has never changed during his
three decades on our screen. Here,
Harriott (left) visits St Lucia on the
next leg of his gastronomic tour of the
Caribbean where he pays a visit to
one of the island’s restaurants to dine
on chicken bois bande with white
chocolate mash. Ainsley also serves
up a tropical cocktail – his mango and
coconut rum daiquiri. This six-week
tour ends next week but after seeing
some amazing sights and eating
some truly scrumptions food we are
sure Ainsley is ready for home...

Soap: Coronation Street, ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

There appears to be no end to the damage angelic
little Hope Stape is determined to cause. As Fiz and
Tyrone (Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall, both
above) row, the little one sneaks out of the house. No
doubt to cause more bedlam. A horrified Fiz calls the
police while Tyrone rounds up a search party but
does Hope want to be found? Elsewhere, Geoff
allows Yasmeen to believe his days are numbered.

Film: The Crying Game, Film4, 11.20pm

Director Neil Jordan’s exploration of race, gender,
nationality, and sexuality against the backdrop of the
Troubles in Northern Ireland is an absolute work of
art. Starring Stephen Rea, Miranda Richardson and
Adrian Dunbar (all above) this is not to be missed if
you have never seen it before. Viewers become
deeply immersed in the storyline as we follow the
experiences of IRA member Fergus.

Cookery: Jamie’s Meat-
Free Meals, C4, 8pm
Anyone who is a long-
time vegetarian or has
abstained from eating
meat for any period will
tell you that there is,
despite wide-held
disbelief, a huge variety
of delicious options out
there. Simply typing the
programme title into an
internet search leads you
to a Brilliant Bhaji Burger
and Wonderful Veg
Tagine – two dishes that
look immense. Over
eight weeks, Jamie Oliver
(left) wants to change
people’s views on veg,
starting tonight with a
chip butty of all things.

Politics: Are Our Politicans
Up To It? Channel 5, 10pm
Where do you even begin
to start when it comes to
a programme title like
this? It really is the Million
Dollar Question at the
moment. Following
immediately after
Paxman: Why Are Our
Politicians So Crap? in
the 9pm timeslot, this
debate – hosted by
Jeremy Vine (right) –
could get a little bit tasty
to say the least as it
features contributions
from politicians,
journalists,
commentators, experts
and members of the
general public.
