giving interviews about his row
with his daughter and Harry.
Days before the royal wedding in
May 2018, he was paid for staged
paparazzi photos.
He then did not attend the cere-
mony at St George’s Chapel,
Windsor Castle, saying he had suf-
fered a heart attack.
Mr Markle said he was now
tired of waiting for the
Sussexes to forgive him.
He complained he was

sick of “the lies” and being “shut
out” of their lives. A spokesman for
Meghan and Harry declined to
comment yesterday.
Mr Markle’s latest interview
follows a difficult few months for
the Duke and Duchess, which has
seen them labelled hypocrites over
their use of private jets.
There have also been high-profile
resignations from the couple’s
personal staff and they recently
lost two PR experts, weeks after

poaching one of them from the
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Natalie Campbell left Harry and
Meghan’s new charity Sussex Royal
after seven weeks. Communications
boss Sara Latham also went.
Ms Latham, who used to be an
adviser to former US first lady
Hillary Clinton, lasted just 53 days
from her appointment on July 1.
She and Ms Campbell were hired
as part of an all-woman team
dubbed Meghan’s “wise women”.

Blessed relief for Queen after one hell of a week

The Queen looks relaxed as she arrives at the church

THE Queen looked happy to relax
back into her usual holiday habits as
she attended Sunday service in
Balmoral yesterday – after an
unusually fraught week.
It was her first public appearance
since agreeing the suspension of
Parliament in the run-up to Brexit
and watching her son Andrew draw
newspaper headlines for all the
wrong reasons.
Her Majesty, 93, was joined by
Prince Charles, 70, as well as
Princess Anne, 69, and Anne’s
husband Tim Lawrence, 64.
Absent was Prince Andrew. He
returned to official royal duties
earlier this week while attempting to
ride out the storm over his

friendship with the late American
paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The Queen sported a plum-
coloured suit accessorised with an
elegant brooch as she and her family
made their way through the rain to
Crathie Kirk.
On Wednesday she approved
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s
shock move to suspend Parliament
for 23 working days in the week
beginning September 9.
Mr Johnson insisted the new
session was required to bring
forward new legislation and said
there would still be “plenty of time”
to debate Brexit.

‘THEY DIDN’T JET TO SEE ME’

THOMAS Markle waded into the row over
Meghan and Harry using private jets.
The couple took four flights in 11 days
despite preaching about green issues.
Mr Markle said: “I feel sorry for them in a
way because they brought this on
themselves. You can’t say one thing and do
another. Everyone raves about how
gracious and wonderful they are but they
are not wonderful to their own family.
“That’s hypocritical. I’ve still never met
my son-in-law. Why couldn’t Prince Harry
have got on a plane and flown to see me to
ask for her hand?”

THE Duchess of Sussex’s rift with
her family appeared to be widening
yesterday after her father
demanded to know why he could
not meet his grandson Archie.
Thomas Markle claimed he had
been cut out of the baby’s life,
describing it as “abuse”.
And he blasted Meghan, 38, and
son-in-law Prince Harry, 34, for
not even sending him a photo of
his grandson.
In a move set to further enrage
Meghan and Harry, Mr Markle, 75,
said the only pictures he had seen
of three-month-old Archie were on
the internet.
Speaking out for the first time
since the birth, he echoed criticism
of the couple for using private jets
while lecturing the world on
climate change issues.

The former Hollywood lighting
director, who lives in Mexico, said:
“I would like them to send me a
picture of Archie so I can frame it
and put it on my wall beside the
one of Meghan.
“Isn’t that what any grandfather
would want? I’d love to know if he’s
got the famous Markle nose.”
Mr Markle claimed he sent a card
to Meghan via her financial adviser
in LA – where she was born and
raised – but had no response.
In the interview, he said he still
loved his daughter and recalled the
times he used to carry her around
when she was a baby.
But he added: “I had hoped
becoming a mother would mellow
Meghan and she would reach out.”
He and the Duchess’s mother,
Doria Ragland, now 62, split up and
divorced when Meghan was six.
