I’m Ruth Griffiths and I’m the

Chief Executive of the British

Sign Language Broadcasting

Trust (BSLBT).

This year we are celebrating

ten years of working with Deaf

programme-makers to produce

outstanding original content in British

Sign Language (BSL).

Set up to help broadcasters meet their

obligation to provide programming in

BSL, we have become a mirror of Deaf

culture in the UK as well as reflecting the

richness and vibrancy of sign language.

In this brochure we share milestone moments
from our first decade, take a closer look at
recent programming and get to know Deaf
talent both in front of and behind the
camera.

We’re hugely grateful to the
broadcasters whose funding makes
our work possible, to Ofcom for their
regulatory support and to everyone
involved in making and distributing
our programmes.
