Highlights

Our most popular show
is Deaf Funny, from
Deaf writer/director,
Charlie Swinbourne.
This sketch comedy
features the everyday
lives of Deaf folk
and reflects through
humour the trials and
tribulations that Deaf
people face within their
own community and in
their encounters with
the hearing world.

BSLBT dramas are
popular not only with
our Deaf audience
but also with hearing
people exploring Deaf
culture. To Know Him,
directed by Ted Evans,
tells an emotional
story of death,
rejection, conflict and
reconciliation.

Our audience can
see their culture and
history witnessed
through our factual
programming. Dot,
produced by Cathy
Heffernan and directed
by Bim Ajadi, looks at
the life of Dot Miles,
the poet, actress and
Deaf rights campaigner.

BSLBT children’s progammes are an important way for Deaf children to
feel part of their Deaf BSL family. Many Deaf children are socially isolated
in mainstream schools and possibly also from their BSL peers because
their hearing families don’t sign. In Up For It? Deaf children are
the stars and get to share their skills and hobbies, showing that
Deaf children can live their dreams and achieve.
