Thala showcases the supreme natural beauty of North Queensland’s

gorgeous rainforests, mountains and ocean. Granite boulders, waterfalls

and overhanging trees create natural swimming holes that blend discretely

with the environment. Winding paths through rainforests and woodlands

connect with secluded coves and beaches and pass through habitats for

endemic birds, wildlife and flora. At Thala, you’ll be lulled by the sounds of

ACCOMMODATION: Relax in deluxe, Coral Sea Bungalows built high

on stilts and perched in the upper canopy of the forest, on Thala’s headland,

offering spectacular views over the treetops to the Coral Sea and distant

islands. Eucalypt Bungalows nestled amid the forest canopy have sweeping

rainforest views, while Jungle Walk Bungalows are low-set on the forest floor

to capture the intimate feel of the unique woodland environment.

All 83 bungalows feature Australian timber and granite throughout to create

an ambience that harmonises with the pristine surrounds. All bungalows

underwent refurbishment in late 2014, and feature air-conditioning, stylish

interiors, and screened windows so you can enjoy the sublime views. Amenities

include TV/DVD, complimentary movies, fridge, mini bar, bathroom with

separate bathtub and shower, in-room safe, and ISDD telephone.

The Sandpiper Suite is the ultimate hideaway with a view of Thala’s beach

and the expansive Coral Sea. In addition to the bungalows’ standard

features it also includes a separate lounge/living area and large deck.
