Cillian Murphy in the TV drama
Peaky Blinders, which recorded its highest
overnight ratings for a series launch with its
BBC One debut on Sunday, the BBC said. The
series fi ve opener was watched by an average
of 3.7 million people, peaking at 4 million. The
show’s fi rst four series aired on BBC Two.

An 18-year-old woman has died
from a suspected drug overdose
in Leeds, the second such death
in the city over the bank holiday
weekend. West Yorkshire police said
the teenager was taken to hospital
after collapsing at the Warehouse
club in the city centre in the early
hours of yesterday. A 19-year-old
man was arrested on suspicion of
being concerned in the supply of
class A drugs. He remained in police
custody yesterday.

A man was shot dead following a
“long standing” criminal gang feud
involving drugs in Northern Ireland,
a detective has said.
Malcolm McKeown, 54, was shot
six times in the head and body at a
petrol station earlier this month, a
senior offi cer told a court yesterday.
Jake O’Brien, 25, and Andrew
Martin, 24, both from the town of
Lurgan in County Armagh, appeared
in the dock at Lisburn magistrates
court, accused of murder. The
incident took place in the village
of Waringstown in County Down.
The victim was found dead in
his car, parked at the rear of the
fi lling station.
A detective said she could
connect the accused with the
charges using a combination of
CCTV footage and, in O’Brien’s
case, DNA evidence taken from a
discarded glove.

Waters, remanded the m both in
custody to reappear before a judge
via videolink at Craigavon court on

said: “Taking illegal substances is
incredibly dangerous and I would
urge anyone considering doing so to
think twice. ”
The death came 48 hours after
a 17-year-old girl died from a
suspected drug overdose at Leeds
festival, where potentially lethal
ecstasy pills were being sold. Police
said the teenager, from Oldham,
had taken a combination of drugs
and died at the Bramham Park site
shortly after 3.40am on Saturday.
A 17-year-old boy from Oldham
was arrested on suspicion of
supplying controlled drugs and later
