£1m Banksy
Brexit mural
disappears
A BREXIT-themed Banksy
mural worth £1million has
vanished from the side of a
former amusement arcade.
The image of a workman
chipping away a star on
the EU flag appeared on a
wall at the former Castle
Amusements building in
Dover in May 2017.
The site, near the ferry
terminal, faced demolition
and owner Godden
Gaming Organisation said
it was exploring options to
maintain or sell the mural.
Residents now say the
wall is covered by white
paint and scaffolding.
Local Tory MP Charlie
Elphicke had campaigned
to protect the “culturally
iconic statement”.
He said: “Disappointed
by the disappearance of
the Dover Banksy.”
Godden Gaming was
contacted for comment.

ago, walking from her
home towards the centre
of Accrington, Lancs.

lary, said: “On Saturday
evening we received a call
from a member of the
public and police attended

“We found the body of a

a murder investigation.
“While we’re yet to
formally identify the body,
we believe it is Lindsay.”
The cause of death and
how she came to be there
have yet to be determined.

THE G7 SUMMIT: EVEN DON
leaders’ partners – including Melania
Trump and Brigitte Macron – watched a
surf class on the Cote des Basques beach.
The PM and Mr Trump had looked to
be starting a bromance over the weekend
as they held their first face-to-face talks
as counterparts. Mr Trump said: “Boris
will be a great Prime Minister. We really
like each other. I’ve been waiting for him
to be Prime Minister for about six years.”
Comparing Mr Johnson with his
predecessor, he added: “Theresa was
unable to do the deal. I gave her my ideas.
She chose to do it her way.”
The PM is trying to renegotiate Mrs
May’s hated Withdrawal Agreement and

tend to come to an agreement right at
the end, that’s what I’ve noticed in my
observation of Brussels.
“Clearly for us, the walking away would
come on October 31. We would have by
then made absolutely colossal, extensive
and fantastic preparations.”
Mr Johnson added he was “marginally
more optimistic” of securing a deal than
he was before the summit.

Look who’s
told a porkie
BORIS Johnson has been accused
of telling porkie pies about Melton
Mowbray pork pies.
The Prime Minister had claimed
on his way to the G7 summit that
the pies are unable to enter the US
market due to red tape, yet are
“sold in Thailand and Iceland”.
But Melton Mowbray Pork Pie
Association chairman Matthew
O’Callaghan pointed
out yesterday:
“We don’t
actually export
to Thailand or to
Iceland.”
“Boris has to try and do something with
Brexit – it’s very tough. I deal with the EU,
it’s a very strong group of people, they
have their ideas and they’re not easy to
deal with, I will tell you.
“The EU is very tough to make deals
with – just ask Theresa May.”
But the PM downplayed concerns of
us crashing out of the bloc in a
Halloween horror, insisting we would
have made “absolutely colossal,
extensive and fantastic preparations”.
In a press conference after the Presi-
dent’s, Mr Johnson said: “I heard him say
the EU are tough negotiators. That’s true
but so are the Americans and everybody
else – everybody is a tough negotiator.
“But that doesn’t mean we won’t do a
deal and I am working hard to do that. It
will be difficult, there is a disagreement.
But my job is to make our
case.” Asked about

DONALD Trump has warned Boris
Johnson he will find it “tough” to
clinch a new Brexit deal with Brus-
sels before his do-or-die deadline.
The US President told the Prime
Minister he is negotiating with a “strong
group” who are “not easy” – and was
sceptical about his chances of avoiding
a catastrophic no-deal on October 31.
Trump’s blunt assessment during the
G7 summit in Biarritz was a blow to Mr
Johnson, who the controversial tycoon
had buddied up to at the gathering.
And it came amid claims that the PM
is poised to parachute Brexit-backing
cronies such as Wetherspoons boss Tim
Martin into the House of Lords to help
enforce his policy.
Mr Trump said at a press conference:
