Do you think there’s more pressure on the
acts returning to the show?
If you’re a winner, you’re a winner and you’re
going to want to maintain that. I think the
British acts had to up their game when they
saw the contenders from around the world.
As judges did you feel like you had to raise
your game too?
For us, nothing has really changed! We turn up,
we don’t have a clue who we’re going to see
from one night to the next, we watch all these
magical performances and then say what we
think. I don’t feel any pressure, I have just loved
every second of it.
pull us all aside before we went out and said:
“This is going to be great, have fun and be free
to misbehave!” I love that the boss tells us all to
have fun and get up to mischief.
Do you look back and pinch yourself?
Simon picked me because I was in a very well
known drama at the time [Wild at Heart]. My
career as an actress has been put on hold,
because BGT has been the biggest thing in my
life. I’ve been able to use my personality. I kind of
feel very comfortable in that area.
What do you think of Simon’s new slim look?
Doesn’t he look amazing? He looks about 15
years younger. He’s just really enjoying life.

TO CHOOSE BGT WORLD CHAMP
ANT AND DEC:
Has the atmosphere been good during the show?
Ant: It’s felt like a cross between the Olympics and Eurovision
because we’ve had so many countries represented. It’s quite
celebratory but it’s still a competition.
What were you most excited about?
Dec: We have people like Bars and Melody who auditioned five years
ago, who were like little nippers when they auditioned. Now they’re
young men and Connie Talbot, the last time we saw her she was this
diddy thing and now she’s a beautiful young lady.
What’s it like seeing yourselves in old clips?
Ant: I’m just seeing some dodgy hairstyles!
Dec: It’s amazing because we look 12 years
older, yet Amanda looks 12 years younger...
Simon is looking good now, isn’t he?
Dec: Yeah, he’s gone all vegan, what’s that
about? Is that the secret? I’ll have to look into it.
Did this series feel epic to film at Wembley?
Ant: They’ve super-sized the show. Some acts
from around the world, like Bello and Annaliese
Nock, need space for spectacular stunts.
Dec: It’s got such a soul, so many acts have
performed there. It felt special to walk on stage.
ALESHA DIXON:
What will the public make of this series?
Most Britain’s Got Talent fans have invested
their time into it over the last 13 years but there
are a lot of people with huge talent from around
the world that they won’t be familiar with.
Which acts from around the world did you
like the most?
The Nelson Twins who are a comedy
duo. They were utterly brilliant.
Amanda kept saying to me,
“What’s wrong with you?”
because I was belly laughing.
They had me ugly crying!

AMANDA HOLDEN:
How was the venue?
When I walked into Wembley Arena for the first
time and saw the hugeness of it I nearly burst
into tears. I felt like a member of BTS or One
Direction walking out.
Was doing a champions version easier?
Yes – there’s nothing stupid, nothing to criticise.
We kind of all just sit back and enjoy ourselves.
The acts are all ridiculously good.
Does that mean you could
be even naughtier?
We always are naughty
but this time Simon did
