but died soon after.
She collapsed at The
Warehouse club in Leeds.
A witness said: “She was
in a distressed state.”
A 19-year-old man has

warned of strong ecstasy
pills circulating at the site.
Graphene to
stop malaria
CLOTHES lined with
graphene stop mosquito
bites and could prevent
deadly diseases such as
malaria, research shows.
The thin, strong mate-
rial blocks sweat smells
that attract the insects and
is also too strong for them
to bite through.
Professor Robert Hurt,
of Brown University, in the
US, said: “We had assumed
graphene would be a phys-
ical barrier to biting.
“But with these experi-
ments, we realised it was
also a chemical barrier.”
Be optimistic
to live longer
ALWAYS looking on the
bright side could help you
live to 85 or older.
A study found the most
optimistic men and
women lived 11% to 15%
longer on average than the
least positive people.
They also had a 50% to
70% greater chance of
reaching the age of 85.
More than 70,000 people
were tracked for between
10 and 30 years.
Prof Lewina Lee, of
Boston University School
of Medicine in the US, said:
“This study has strong
public health relevance.”

While just over half have the cash
to help out, the remainder are
turning to their pension savings,
cashing in the lump sum from
their pots and dipping into their
funds via a drawdown plan.
Those who have already retired
are using their pension income
to help loved ones with their
home ownership ambitions.
Digging even deeper into retire-
ment savings is leading some
into an uncertain older age.
More than a quarter of parents
aged over 55 are not confident
they will have enough to last
throughout their retirement.
The study found that 12.5%
have had to accept a lower
standard of living and 5% delayed
retirement to keep earning.
Chris Knight, chief executive at
Legal & General retail retirement,
which carried out the research,
said: “Parents and grandparents
are giving generously as part of
the Bank of Mum and Dad.
“Many are using their pensions
to help out and unfortunately
this could be leaving some facing
a poorer retirement.”
