What’s in the cards for the Apple
Card? Evercore ISI’s Amit Daryanani sees
the credit card as key to the growth of the
iPhone maker’s services business, particu-
larly by expanding usage of its mobile-pay-
ment service, Apple Pay. The Apple Card
is linked to the underutilized Apple Pay.
“We estimate iPhone owners use Apple
Pay for less than 5% of their total credit/
debit purchases, though our analysis sug-
gests more than 40% have Apple Pay en-
abled on their iPhone,” Daryanani writes.
Apple Pay’s transaction volume doubled in
the latest quarter, and he sees it providing
a revenue stream of more than $5 billion
“over the next few years.” He rates Apple
as Outperform with a $238 price target.
