Cleveland Browns running
back Kareem Hunt will spend p art
of his NFL suspension rehabbing
after s urgery.
Hunt, who will serve an eight-
game ban for t wo physical off-field
altercations in 2 018 while he
played for the Kansas City Chiefs,
had a sports hernia operation
Thursday.
The Browns said the 24-year-
old is expected to be fully recov-
ered by the time he’s eligible to
return to their roster Nov. 10
against the B uffalo Bills.
On Wednesday, the league said
Hunt is not allowed inside the
team’s facility during his suspen-
sion, which goes into effect Satur-
day at 4 p.m. The Browns had
asked for an exemption so Hunt
could be around his teammates
while s erving his penalty.

Hunt, who is from the Cleve-
land area, will have to rehab his
injury elsewhere.
The Browns signed the 2017
NFL rushing leader in February
on the recommendation of Gener-
al Manager John Dorsey, who
drafted H unt in t he t hird round in
2017 w hile with K ansas City.
Hunt was punished by Com-
missioner Roger Goodell for vio-
lating the league’s personal con-
duct policy following an investiga-
tion into the two incidents, one in
which he shoved and kicked a
woman during an argument in a
hotel hallway in Cleveland where
he w as s taying.
Also Thursday, the Browns ac-
quired offensive lineman Wyatt
Te ller f rom the B ills.
Cleveland sent fifth-round and
sixth-round picks in the 2020
draft to Buffalo for Teller and a
seventh-round p ick i n 2021.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Teller
is in his second season out of Vir-
ginia Tech.
l BRONCOS: Denver is set to
exercise late owner Pat Bowlen’s
plan of succession after a judge
dismissed a lawsuit filed by his
brother.
Brittany Bowlen, 29, is plan-
ning to return to the team in a
senior management position fol-
lowing her w edding in S eptember,
beginning a process she h opes will
lead to her taking over as the
franchise’s c ontrolling owner.
Arapahoe County Court Judge
John E. Scipione dismissed John
Bowlen’s lawsuit seeking to re-
move team president Joe Ellis,
team counsel Rich S livka and Den-
ver lawyer Mary Kelley as trustees
of the Patrick D. Bowlen trust,
claiming they weren’t acting in
good faith or in his late brother’s
best interests.

l DOLPHINS: Ryan Fitzpat-
rick will be the starting quarter-
back in Week 1, Miami announced.
l FALCONS: Matt Bryant is
scheduled to try out for coaches
and front-office personnel at the
team’s training facility Friday. As-
suming the 44-year-old kicker is
healthy, he’s expected to sign on
for a 19th NFL s eason.
l TITANS: Tennessee reached
an agreement to acquire outside
linebacker Reggie Gilbert from
the G reen Bay Packers for a condi-
tional 2020 d raft p ick. T he move i s
pending a physical.
l PATRIOTS: New England ac-
quired offensive lineman Korey
Cunningham from the Arizona
Cardinals f or a sixth-round pick i n
next year’s draft. The move is
pending a physical.
l BILLS: Center Mitch Morse
was cleared to play a month after
entering the c oncussion protocol.
