Arabian Horse World – August 2019

(sharon) #1

EUROPEAN C SHOW
brother to the Gold winning filly
Pearl Eden K.A., and Bronze to
the two-year-old class winner,
Pireno (Shanghai EA x Pirana
KA), bred and owned by Pawel
Redestowicz of Poland. The
judges were rather at odds in this
section, one pinning Pireno for
Gold and one Pharynx K.A. But
with two votes, Pacheco K.A.
came first.
The mare classes were
wonderful to see, with an
especially beautiful 10-year-old
and older class. With so much
beauty and quality on show, the
judges were more divided than
ever, each of them choosing a
different Gold champion! The
Gold title went to the winner of
the 10-year and older class,
Phirouettes (QR Marc x Polenta
by Ecaho), by virtue of two judges
choosing her for Silver and one
for Bronze, which gave her the
TOP LEFT: Gold Champion Junior Filly PEARL EDEN K.A. (QR Marc x Prisma de
Lafon), owned by Knocke Arabians, Belgium.
TOP RIGHT: Silver Champion Junior Filly BIDZINA K.A. (QR Marc x Bid Persia),
owned by Knocke Arabians, Belgium.
BOTTOM RIGHT: Bronze Champion Junior Filly FORELOCK’S YINX (FS Reflection
x Forelock’s Yessy), owned by Forelock’s Arabians, The Netherlands.
most points. QR Marc has sired
some of his best offspring out of
Polish mares, and Phirouettes is
no exception. She comes from
the Janow “P” dynasty through
the World Champion Mare
Pilarka, and she is a proven
producer, too. Silver again went
to a QR Marc daughter out of a
Polish mare, El Extasa K.A. (out of
Ekina by Ekstern), who won the
class for four- to six-year-old
mares. It was a very narrow
decision, as El Extasa also had
one vote for Gold and two for
Silver, but one judge left her out
entirely. Again, this is a very
refined mare with beautiful
movements. Bronze went to one
of the few German competitors,
Maharani CF (Psytadel x Mara
III), bred by Barbara Schwarz and
owned by Claus Bouché. This
mare has won many titles in the
past and has also produced
winners. She had placed third in
the senior class behind Lothara
Bez from Denmark, but in the
finals got one vote for Gold and
two for Bronze.
The stallion classes were very
small, with just two entries per
class, so everyone qualified for
the finals; but the few horses
were of excellent quality. Gold
went to the winner of the seven
to nine-year-old class, Fazit-B,
bred and owned by Barakah
Arabians of Denmark, who got
three of the four votes. Fazit-B,
who had previously won at
Ströhen when he was a colt, is a
son of Monther Al Nasser, and in
fact he now looks very much like
his sire did at the same age. His
dam Fazia-B is by Girlan Bey and
of Polish breeding. Barakah
Arabians scored a double win in
“WITH SO MUCH BEAUTY AND QUALITY ON
SHOW, THE JUDGES WERE MORE DIVIDED
THAN EVER, EACH OF THEM CHOOSING A
DIFFERENT GOLD CHAMPION!”
