cancelled after torrential rain.
Organiser Janet Baker said:
“Saturday was great and ran like
clockwork, but there was a heavy
shower at 3pm that meant we had
to tow everyone out of the lorry
park. I went to bed that night
hopeful, because the fields where
the competition happens are sandy

heavy rain all night, which made it
impossible to continue.” H&H

BE100open section from second-
placed Amy Hawley (Broadstone
Numero Uno) and third-placed
Georgia Dukes (Caoife Z), both of
whom finished on the same score

as Jess, but weren’t as close to the
optimum time across country.
Jess got the eight-year-old
Jacks Delight mare in November.
“It’s been a baptism of fire in

Charlotte. “She was selected for
the under-18 championships at
Frickley and went well there, but
fell in the water on her previous
run when in the lead at Speetley,
and has been so close to a win
without quite getting there.”
Jess said: “She’s a very keen
mare who really loves her job.
She is very enthusiastic — she
does everything at 100 miles an
hour, but she’s also kind and a
dream to ride. I’m very lucky to
have her.”
