Whirlwind day for Price
successful in both hunter and
coloured ranks.
Her run began when Anne
Hebron and John Maude’s
handsome home-produced
heavyweight hunter Correnagh
Cove (Ritchie) headed his class,
going on to land the section title.
This is the seven-year-old’s first
“proper” open season, although
he qualified for HOYS last year at
Ryedale with Anne aboard.
“He’s super to ride — he’s so
light on his feet for a big horse
and feels like a Ferrari in a big
ring,” said Jo, having just her
third outing with him. “I’m really
looking forward to his future.”
Jo then took a catch ride on
the coloured plaited pony victor
and section reserve, May Day, as
his usual partner, Courtney Jones,
only arrived home from holiday at
4am that morning.
“I rode him at the Festival of
Hunting and was second, and as
I’ve been teaching Courtney, I
stepped in today,” added Jo.
