Mental health
Health isn’t all physical. On
average, one in eight men
will experience depression
and one in five men will
experience anxiety during
some point in their life. With
those statistics, we need to
open the conversation with
themales in our lives.
“Asking how they’ve been
eeling lately is a great way
o start,” says psychologist
oosha Anzab. “Perhaps say
u’ve noticed they’ve looked
a little down and you wanted
o see if you can help.”
If you do establish that
ourpartner or relative isn’t
K,the next step is to provide
ptions to them to seek help.
“If the matter is urgent and
you’re worried they might

be at harm to themselves
or someone else, call 111
immediately,” says Noosha.

Exercise
Ben recommends men do
some form of weight training
four days a week if possible.
“I would also try to get
some walks, running, bike
riding or cardio of some form
added into your weekly plan,”
he says. “You can do this
before or after the weight
training/circuit class or on
a separate day.”
If he isn’t sure how or where
to start, Ben also advises
looking into a personal trainer,
running group or even an app.
