I was born in New York in 1964. Both my parents are of Italian descent and I was
raised with my younger brother in Brooklyn. I fell in love with acting as a child
watching Broadway shows with my family. I went to university to study drama,
but dropped out when I was cast in a small part in a US soap. In my first movie,
The Flamingo Kid, I had one line, but I went on to land stage work and a
recurring role on A Different World. My break came in 1992, when I was cast
in My Cousin Vinnie. The role won me an Oscar, but over the next 15 years,
despite hit movies including What Women Want and Anger Management, less
successful movies, such as The Guru tainted my star appeal. However, in 2008,
I appeared alongside Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. The critically acclaimed
movie revived both our careers and since then, I’ve cemented my position as
one of Hollywood’s most versatile talents in films including The Lincoln Lawyer
and Crazy, Stupid, Love. More recently, I’ve even joined the Marvel Universe,
appearing in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far from Home. Who am I?
