A Bird’s Head In The Hand

A variety of guns had bird’s-head grips. Colt used them on the Models 1877 and 1878 (top left
and bottom center). Custom models include this 3½-inch-barreled Peacemaker with engraving by Weldon
Lister Jr. (top right), a Peacemaker by John J. Adams Jr. inspired by Bass Outlaw’s (center) and a Richards-Mason
conversion done by R.L. Millington (far left), who also made 25 percussion models (far right) for Taylor’s & Co. around 2008.
