THE DANISH FIRM 3XN, in collaboration with BVN and Aspect Studios, will build
the new Sydney Fish Market, a structure that proposes to generate urban energy.
The intervention was in fact designed to be an engine of commercial, social and
cultural experiences that will draw in both residents and tourists. The idea is to
visuallyconnecttheactivitiesofthecityandthoserelatedtothewholesalemarket,
which are normally off limits to the public, and to make coexistence possible. The
structurewillhouserestaurants,outdoorpublicspacesandgreenareasforrelaxa-
tionwitha view of the sea.Theinaugurationisexpected infouryears’time.
