3 plants to grow and eat

That smug feeling you get when you eat
something you grew yourself – it’s pretty
hard to beat. For spring, try tomatoes, basil
or any form of lettuce, in pots, troughs or
the ground. Caprese salad, anyone?

MAINTENANCE

get pool ready

for summer

Give your pool some TLC in
the months leading up to
summer so you can jump
right in when hot days arrive!

1
You’ll likely find the water level
has dropped over winter, so
refill it to reach the middle of
the skimmer opening (for large
water volumes, check water
restrictions in your area).

2
Let the water circulate
overnight, then test its
chemical levels using a home
testing kit or take a sample
to your local pool shop.
Adjust accordingly.

3
Wash out the filter and
skimmer box. Use a pool
broom to scrub the bottom
and sides of your pool.

4
Check that everything works,
including the filter system,
pump, drain and pool cleaner,
and repair as needed.

5
Do a safety check of all gates,
fences and latches and have
a CPR sign clearly displayed.
