s a holiday home, this coastal property needed
to offer maximum comfort and sophistication,
with an underlying focus on practicality. With
this in mind, the home has been created to
require the least possible maintenance, at the
same time optimising comfort and luxury with a level of
uniqueness and timelessness throughout.
The open-plan space lends itself to easy movement,
and the general living area has been designed to showcase
the views of the ocean from any angle, whether you are
standing or sitting. For added impact, mirrors were placed
to reflect the views. Another smart feature is the way the
fireplace was designed and positioned. Located between
both lounges, it warms both areas and acts as a room

divider, creating two separate spaces that can be used
simultaneously or individually while retaining the views.
When it came to the interior spaces, internationally
sourced items and custom-made local pieces were used
in conjunction to give the home a unique sense of luxury,
balance and style.
Each item that went into the home was well considered
for its longevity and functionality – from the automated
blinds that are UV-resistant, anti-glare and useful in
protecting the wooden floors and furniture, to the stain-
resistant fabrics on all the headboards, bed bases and
occasional furniture. The furniture pieces are also rust-
resistant, since rust damage is a reality, especially for
homes at the coast.
