Back to nature, as we see the dominance of the real
and look-a-like versions of marble, cement and wood.
Liza Watermeyer of Tile Africa elaborates: “Marble and
marble-look tiles are always popular but more recently
there is rise of classic Carrara-look marble. This timeless
marble is characterised by subtle grey veins on a white
backdrop. Stone-look slabs with white, linear quartz
veining, are becoming a popular choice, for their bold,
contrasting style. Cement-look tiles continue to trend
but with more structured patterns and metallic accents.
The rise of the botanical trend in interiors, on wallpaper
and fabrics, is now also available on tiles. Leaf patterns
in greys and bronze add warmth to the urban-inspired
look. The wood-look tile remains a trend-forward design,
with new trends combining the rustic woods with elegant
marble look or with 18th-century Cementine-inspired
patterned tiles for highly personalised spaces.”
