latest colours in selective areas or through décor pieces

and soft furnishings. “Coral, for example, is just the perfect

jewel-like colour to pop in any interior,” advises Larkin. You

can add this colour through fabrics if you don’t want to

overspend but still want an updated look.

If, however, you are considering painting walls and

have a tight budget, Kondlo recommends painting just an

accent wall. “You can also paint the inside of your closets

or book cases or even give your old furniture a facelift

with a new colour.”

Another good tip when it comes to painting, says

Moodley, is to opt for warmer tones that give living

areas dimension and depth. Ramaisa also highlights the

importance of when to paint. “Painting at the right time

of the year is critical to the performance of the paint. The

wall temperature can vary from the weather temperature

and must be above 10°C and below 35°C throughout the

painting process. You should generally avoid painting in
