Gondelman—whosefallbackcareerwasteaching—says

asa staffwriteronLastWeekTonight. Hewaspromotedtothat
roleafterworkingoneseasonasa webproducerfortheshow.
Nowhe’sdevelopingdifferentcreativemusclesonDesus&
Mero, whereheworkscloselywiththegraphicsteamandeditors.“It
isanextensiveeditfora late-nightshow,”heexplains.“Mostshows
comeinknowingwhatisgoingontheairandhaving
tomakea coupleoflittletrimsfortime.Butwe’re
constructingthearcoftheshowfromthe
materialthathappensonstagea lot
ofthetime.So,it’sadifferent
workflowandchallenge.”
