Von Miller has been the picture of dependability since entering the league in 2011. The
linebacker has put up a league-high 98 sacks since his rookie campaign and has had at
least 10 in every full season he’s played. Paired with fellow edge rusher Bradley Chubb
(12 sacks), Miller could have a career year under defensive-minded coach Vic Fangio.
The architect of the Bears’ notoriously stingy D, Fangio was hired to replace Vance
Joseph, who was let go after winning just 11 games in his two seasons in charge.
There’s been a lot of transition for Denver after the Broncos recorded their first
back-to-back losing seasons since 1971–72. Joe Flacco, who spent 11 seasons as
Baltimore’s steady (but not spectacular) quarterback, will become the Broncos’ third
different opening day starter in the past three years. With up-and-coming WR Courtland
Sutton, who had 704 receiving yards as a rookie, as his top target, Flacco gives Denver
a chance to find some much-needed consistency.
