Arctic circles Riders survey a quintessentially Scandinavian
backdrop on stage one of the Arctic Race of Norway. Setting out from
the town succinctly named A, the race traced its way across a spit of
land that appears to be half fjord, half rocky outcrop to finally arrive in
the mainland town of Narvik four stages later. The stage pictured,
from A to Leknes, was won by Mathieu van der Poel (Corenden-
Circus), with Astana’s Alexey Lutsenko winning the overall.
