Gilbert and David work in a café. Gilbert is new. He follows the rules

carefully. David always serves the customers with a smile. He is

very easy-going. The café is not busy this morning. There

are only a few customers. The phone rings. David

answers it. A customer makes a big order. The

customer wants the order very soon. Both

Gilbert and David work on it.

A woman comes in. She orders a cup of

JVɈLL:OLZP[ZKV^UH[H[HISL:OL[HRLZ

a small dog out of her bag. It lies down

under the table. It is very quiet. Gilbert looks

at the woman’s dog. The café has a “No

Pets” rule. There is a sign on the window.

Gilbert tells David about the dog. But David

is busy. He is working on the big order.
