The Center for Whale Research, the keeper of whale

Dear Readers,
Studio Classroom wants to welcome all of the students back to school this month.
It’s important to get off to a good start. And what better way than by reading your
Studio Classroom magazine?
I’m also excited to announce several new features included in this month’s issue.
First, be sure to check out the QR code beside each article’s date. Beginning in
September, readers can listen along to the articles’ audio readings by scanning the QR
code on each page. Enjoy learning English on the go!
Next, our conversation article has a fresh new look and is titled What’s Your
Opinion? But the series is more than just a conversation. Learning to think critically
and express an opinion takes practice. Readers can sharpen both of these skills by
working through different controversial topics.
In order for students to better cope with the new school curriculum (
), Studio Classroom now offers one competency development activity each month.
Readers can explore an article’s content more thoroughly through discussion and
online research. September’s issue kicks off with an interactive worksheet on page 14.
For even more of an interactive experience, we’re offering readers the tools they

Last but not least, remember to check out the magazine’s helpful Study Tips on
page 3 as well as the Contents page on pages 6 and 7. A good beginning is half the
battle.
We wish our readers a successful school year!
