policetargetedthemforminorinfractionsbecause

terrifying.Inthefirstseason,viewerswatcheda
fleeingsuspectfliphiscarandtrytorunholding
histwo-year-olddaughterasa humanshield.As
thecamerarolledanda crowdgatheredwithcell-
phonesout,RichlandCounty,S.C.,sheriff ’sdeputy
ChrisMastrianniwrestledthemanformorethan
twominutesuntilbackuparrived.Atonepoint,
thesuspectreachedintohispocketforwhatmight
havebeena weapon.
RichlandCountySheriffLeonLottwasamong
thefirsttosignontotheshowandhesayshehas
noregrets.Thedepartmentgetsfanmailandjob
inquiriesfromacrossthecountry,hesays.Some
5,000fanscametoColumbia,thecounty’slarg-
estcity,fora celebrationofthe200thepisodein
