pliers, bend one end to form
a small hook (photo b).
2) Slide the hook through the braid,
right near the beaded braid. Position
the wire so the long end points away
from the braid (photo c).
3) Cut 4 in. (10 cm) of 26-gauge
wire, and slide it through the braid,
near where the first wire went
through. Leave one end shorter
than the other (photo d).
4) Bend the short end so it is parallel
with the long end of the other wire
and it points away from the braid.
Wrap the long end of the 26-gauge
wire around the braided cord, the

hook, and the short end of the
26-gauge wire. Trim both ends
of the 26-gauge wire (photo e).
If desired, apply a small amount
of E6000 to the wrapped cord end.
5) String a bead cone and a fire-
polished bead on the 22-gauge wire,
and make a wrapped loop (photo f).
6) Open a 5 mm jump ring, and
attach it to the wrapped loop and
the loop of a clasp.
7) Repeat steps 1–6 to finish the
other end of the braid, but instead
of a clasp, attach a 2-in. (5 cm) piece
of chain. B&B
