“It’s important to keep a similar look to all of the fittings in the
bathroom, but you should be able to customise them to fit your unique
style and taste,” says Timothy who has created a collection for THG
Paris that can be totally customised according to personal taste. Ed
agrees that keeping things consistent is key. “Bathrooms are relatively
small spaces and fittings and fixtures are very prominent, so mixing
different styles is hardly ever an option.”
Whatever the size of the space, storage is always essential.
Clutter never says comfort and calm, as a bathroom should, so see how
you can cleverly incorporate additional cupboards or, as Ed suggests,
make use of ceiling space.
A desire to be sustainable is also having increasing influence on
the choice of fixtures and furnishings. “We are seeing fewer requests
for rain shower heads and multiple body sprays,” says Timothy,
attributing the change to a greater consciousness of water usage.
Along with this trend is an increased interest in technology with
smart toilets in particular growing in popularity. “Technology must
pamper and enhance both comfort and the bathroom experience,”
Ed says. The smart mirror is certainly one tech addition he can get on
board with. “I expect to see mirrors with features such as augmented
reality and an Internet connection.”
For Denise, a smart mirror is already an integral part of her
bathroom setup. “I start the day with an awakening shower with
waterfall and pulsating massage while catching up on global news
through the media function of my illuminated mirror cabinet,” she
says of her bathroom that is “a multi-purpose area of my home.” Ed
adds, “I like to listen to music when I take a bath.” Couple all that with
the most basic essentials, such as candles and scents, for an all-round
pampering.

智能鏡子必定是他的浴室科技產品之一。Ed說：「我預計愈來
愈多人使用配備擴增實境和上網功能的鏡子。」
對Denise而言，智能鏡子早已成浴室設備。她說：「我的每天始
於一面舒暢地淋浴和享受瀑布及脈衝式按摩，一面透過照明鏡櫃的媒
體功能收看環球新聞。」如時間更充裕，她便會在堪稱「家居多用途
區」的浴室聽音樂、看電影、看書和打遊戲機。Ed亦非常重視音響系
統的質素：「我喜歡在沐浴時聽音樂。」參考以上專家意見，再添置
