covered hoppers in tow on the first day of the
tour, July 8. The freight consist traveled as far
east as North Platte. From there to Omaha,
canteens, backup diesel locomotive, and three
tool/crew cars went east, pausing for the night

Kate Shelley Bridge located 3 miles west of
Boone, Iowa. The structure is 2,813 feet long
and 190 feet tall over the Des Moines River.
The old bridge is nearest to the camera. Four
passenger cars were dropped upon arrival in
