BEHIND THE SHOT: I was diving at Devil’s Grotto off Grand Cayman, which is known for its

tarpon population. There was a dark , overhanging ledge and a rather large tarpon hiding out

underneath it. We were pretty shallow, so I decided to stick my hand under the ledge to try

to see if I could get a photo with just the ambient lighting available. It worked out beautifully!

The eye is perfectly in focus and you can see the texture on the scales around it.
