SWEET-AND-STICKY
TUNA WITH CHARGRILLED
BROAD BEANS
“Woolworths' new sweet-and-sticky
marinated yellowfin tuna steaks are
delicious. I love them with Woolies’ sweet
potato wedges dressed in a fresh herb oil.”

Cooking: 3–5 minutes

Woolworths sweet-and-sticky tuna
steaks 2 x 150 g steaks 
Woolworths broad beans in the pod
2 x 300 g packs
lemon ½, juiced
extra virgin olive oil 1 T 
sea salt and freshly ground black
pepper, to taste 

1 Remove the tuna from the fridge 10
minutes before cooking. 2 Place on a braai

grid 10 cm above moderate coals. Cook
for 1–2 minutes on each side for medium
rare. 3 Chargrill the broad beans in the
pod while you’re searing the tuna until
slightly blackened and tender. 4 Pod the
beans and toss in the lemon juice, olive
oil and seasoning. Serve with the tuna.

Woolworths lightly smoked whole
snoek 800 g
olive oil
sea salt and freshly ground black
pepper, to taste


1 To make the sweet chilli sauce, bring the
sugar and 1 cup water to a slow simmer in
a small saucepan over a medium heat or
in a cast-iron pot over low coals. When the
sugar has dissolved, bring the syrup to the
boil and add the remaining ingredients.
Simmer for 10–15 minutes. Remove from
the heat and set aside to cool completely.
2 Rub the snoek in olive oil, season and
place on a braai grid. Braai for 3 minutes
on each side before brushing liberally
with the sweet chilli sauce just before
removing from the fire. 3 Serve warm
with extra sweet chilli on the side and
chargrilled limes to squeeze over.
