NO.1 HEALTHCARE DONATE

LARGE SUM TO HELP RENOVATE

CHARITY GARDEN

ealthcare specialists No.1 Healthcare
have donated a sum of £1000 to
disabilities charity Leonard Cheshire
in order for their garden to be redeveloped.
No.1 Healthcare supply fully-trained medical
staff and resources to those that need it,
providing aid to the UK and further afield.
Founder Josh Singh is delighted that his firm
can help Leonard Cheshire in their cause to
improve their garden facilities which should
bring more joy to those visiting.
“It’s not the greatest sum of money in the
whole word, but the project has touched
me because this is the first time we’ve done
something where we’ve truly seen people’s
emotions,” Josh said.
“The service users were getting upset and the
happy smiles they all had, it was amazing to
see what we were doing can actually change
somebody’s life.
“You can donate a good amount of money to
several charities but Leonard Cheshire stood
out because we can see who we are helping
and what we are creating and it’s a fantastic
thing. The garden will not just look beautiful
but also allow the service users to enjoy their
summer there.”
Leonard Cheshire support individuals to live,

learn and work independently whatever their
ability. The garden at their Portobello premises
is in need of a renovation, and No.1 Healthcare
got involved in helping after a site visit, as Josh
explained.
“Leonard Cheshire are actually one of our
biggest clients across the whole of the UK, and
when we visited them at Portobello we were
shown around and the lady said to me ‘Josh
in two weeks’ time we are going to have a
barbecue event where we want to raise money
for refurbishing our garden space,” he said.
“The charity had been fundraising for over six
months, doing things like arts and crafts sales,
but they were pleasantly surprised when we
offered to pay for the entire cost of the garden
getting renovated. They were delighted to
have us involved and we were all ecstatic.
“They’ve presented their garden plan and
they’re going to have benches around in
the garden, a barbecue stand, flower pots
to grow vegetables and plant in and re-floor
the flooring. It’s not that big a garden but it’s
important to them and the service users.”
No.1 Healthcare was founded two years
ago, and since then has gone from
strength-to-strength. Josh himself has been
recognised as one of Scotland’s leading

entrepreneurs, and the company has large
ambitions to grow in the future.
“The main plans for No.1 Health Care are to
grow the number of staff we have across the
country and open office branches in England
and Wales,” Josh continued.
“But we also want to become more prominent
in Asia. We’ll have somebody based in Dubai,
and basically they’ll have a few contacts in
place for Asia to help them with what’s needed
so for example any kind of aid we can give
in the aftermath of an earthquake. In some
cases we will of course help through charity
donations as well.”
