ust eight months after telling OK! they didn’t ‘ever
want to lose each other again’, GARETHGATES
and FAYEBROOKES (left) have called time on their
engagement. The break-up is said to have been ‘really
upsetting for both parties’ according to a source. But
despite reports to the contrary, a spokesperson for Gareth
has denied that he asked for the £30,000, four-carat
diamond ring he gave to Faye back. On the night that their
split was reported, Coronation Street actress Faye shared
a quick succession of inspirational quotes on Instagram,
including one which read: ‘You deserve light and peace
and love every day
of your life.’
Sources suggest
that Gareth, who shares
ten-year-old daughter
Missy with his former
wife Suzanne Mole,
had banned Faye from
talking to friends about
their relationship.
The couple met in
2012 while starring
opposite each other
in Legally Blonde: The
Musical. They briefly
split last year before
getting engaged in New
York in January, with
Gareth, 35, serenading
Faye with a 17-minute
long song. Their split
comes just months after
Faye, 31, had a ‘G’
tattooed on her side
and told OK!: ‘It
represents that we’re
together forever.’e
