WHYGOTHERENOW?
For those missing their nightly Love Island fix, you won’t have to wait another year
for the next instalment as the next series will take place in Cape Town at the start of

  1. With its sandy beaches, iconic Table Mountain, wineries and cosmopolitan city
delights, Cape Town – on the southern tip of Africa – will be the perfect backdrop for
the ITV2 show. It’s easy to see why Michelle Keegan fell in love with the place while
filming Our Girl. With no jetlag slowing you down (it’s only an hour ahead of British
Summer Time) and temperatures in January in the high twenties, what’s not to love?

Take a cable car
to the top of
Table Mountain

The city is just as
stunning by night
as it is by day

WHATARETHEMUST-SEESIGHTS?
Table Mountain sits majestically overlooking the
city. Either hike or take the cable car to the summit,
where you’ll be rewarded with incredible city
views. We visited at sunset and the view took our
breath away. Another way to view the mountain is
to take to the skies – OK! hopped aboard an NAC
Helicopters tour for an unforgettable spin around
the Cape Peninsula, where our pilot pointed out
sights including Robben Island (where Nelson
Mandela was imprisoned), the upmarket beach
resort of Camps Bay (Leonardo DiCaprio and Zac
Efron have been spotted there) and the Cape of
Good Hope that juts into the Atlantic Ocean. The
city also boasts a vibrant art scene, so to learn more
we headed to Woodstock, one of the city’s coolest
suburbs, where our knowledgeable guide Juma
took us on a tour of the local street art.
