³Back Tracking
NZHRM’s long-time Art Director
Owen “The Big O” Campbell
spotted Howard Hollman’s ’
Ford Lakes Modified “T” on page
7 0 of the August issue. It was
this very same Track T which
Owen used as a hand-drawn
portrait for the article titled Back
Tracking, which was published
in October 1999 NZHRM. Great
to see the car is still out and
about participating in events
and an excellent reminder of
the superb quality of the Big
O’s artistic talents. The original
art still hangs on the wall in
Owen’s home in Rotorua.

³Changing of the Guard
AFTER more years than any of us can recall Errol Uttinger has
stepped down as the NZHRA Area Three Zone Director. His
replacement was a unanimous vote by club delegates to elect
Brian Atkinson, a member of Sulphur City Rod & Custom Club.
It was effective immediately at a recent area meeting as Errol’s
health has not been the best. Errol was elected Area Three
Director in the early 1980s and held the position ever since
except for when he was NZHRA President and another brief
period in the interim. The Zone 3 clubs sincerely appreciate
all the time and effort that Errol has devoted to both the area
and NZHRA. Time for Errol to enjoy his award-winning car.

³Broken Crockery
YEP, that’s enough Nitro thanks! When you
tip the can a tad too much, the result is often
complete instant disassembly without tools!
There’s no point bonding with your favourite
brand of racing engine components when
you tip the can. There’s just no time.
From Golly.
